The Meadow Brook Concours dÂ’Elegance continues to add new and exciting events to the famed celebration of the power and beauty of the automobile with the inaugural Destination dÂ’Elegance, a variety of events to include lifestyle seminars, an Italian-themed wine and food tasting, unique shops, a next-gen preview party, a wine gala and silent wine auction, concept cars, and a ride and drive.

“While Concours Sunday still remains the exclamation point to a long weekend of parties, seminars, and motoring, the events which lead up to Concours Sunday have been ever more popular in the recent years,” said Executive Director Matthew de Larcinese. “Our hangar party was a phenomenal success last year and the plans for the 2008 will be even grander. The Destination d’Elegance will set the stage for the best Michigan has to offer while it is home to the most elegant cars in the world and their owners.”

The Destination d’Elegance will begin on Saturday, August 2, 2008, at 10 a.m., on the grounds of the grand Meadow Brook Hall, featuring the Bistro d’Elegance and the Shoppes on the Green, and lifestyle seminars such as the State of Ferrari Collecting and Italian Wine Tasting. “This is a rare opportunity for local, national and international specialty vendors and culinary masters to display their latest products and masterpieces in a setting that only a Meadow Brook Concours can provide!” said de Larcinese.

Starting on Friday, August 1st, the Destination dÂ’ Elegance will kick-off with the Club Concours Next Gen Preview Party, a young professional party hosted in the Bistro (by invitation). Young professionals from various industries will be the first to stroll through the many eateries, enjoy live music and preview several amazing cars before anyone else on Concours weekend.

The two-day event will also feature a high performance motoring tour and a Ride and Drive held in conjunction with the RM Classic Car Auction, also held on the Meadow Brook grounds Saturday, August, 1 2008.

Confirmed features for the 2008 show so far are significant Ferraris, 8 litre Bentleys, the 100th Anniversary of General Motors, 16 cylinder cars, vintage motorcycles with sidecars, the Class of 1933 and the 100th Anniversary of the Model T.

The Meadow Brook Concours dÂ’Elegance is one of the world's most prestigious auto events, held on the grounds of Meadow Brook Hall, a 1920's Tudor-revival mansion built by the widow of John Dodge, a perfect setting for this very elegant event and the automotive heritage it represents. Advanced tickets for the 2008 Concours and its week long celebration are available.
