The 50th anniversary of the British Touring Car Championship as well as the 60th anniversary of Silverstone circuit and the 80th anniversary of the British Racing Drivers Club will be celebrated on August 30/31 at Silverstone.
Touring car drivers past and present met at Silverstone on June 19 to prepare for the event, which also marks the return of BTCC to Silverstone. Touring car legend Jack Sears, winner of the inaugural British Saloon Car Championship (which became the BTCC) in 1958, was there, as was Andy Rouse, the most successful BTCC driver of all time.
Other drivers included Jason Plato, Mat Jackson, Matt Neal, Tim Harvey and David Brodie.
