Blenheim Palace was sparkling under the summer showers on Saturday, 5th July where another successful Octane Concours D’Elégance was held alongside the Coys summer auction.
More than 50 superb motor cars arrived for the Concours being adjudicated by Octane Editor Chief Judge Robert Coucher with his friends and colleagues Steve Wakefield from Classic Driver, Charles Harbord, Editor of Cars for the Connoisseur and Giuseppe De Wilde, General Manager of the Bluebird Club in London.
The judges had a tough task deciding the winners of the five classes as the standard of entrants was so high. The eventual winners were: Best of British, the 1965 Aston Martin owned by Michael Grenfell; Continental cars: the 1929 Royce Hispano owned by Paul Gregory; The Spirit of Motoring: the 1966 Singer Vogue owned by Lee Richards; Forza Italia: the 1968 Lamborghini Miura presented by John Barlow; Jaguar XK Class: the 1951 Jaguar XK120 roadster owned by Mr. Mike Birtwhistle, which had been previously owned by the cartoonist Giles.
