New Aston GT2
First glimpse of new Aston Martin GT2 Racer

Aston Martin has revealed the first images of its new GT racer: the Vantage GT2.

Aston Martin has revealed the first images of its new GT racer: the Vantage GT2. Based on the current V8 Vantage road car, the GT2 will be the first Aston racing car able to run on standard race fuel or E85 bio-ethanol.

As well as sporting green credentials, the GT2 also means that Aston Martin now boasts cars in every GT racing category. This ranges from the DBR9 in GT1 to the Vantage N24 in GT4.

The Vantage GT2 follows another successful bio-ethanol project from last year when Aston Martin experimented with a standard DBSR9. Aston's plans for the 2008 race season are due to be revealed by chairman Dave Richards at the Autosport Show at Birmingham's NEC on January 10.
