Local authorities have granted permission for a six million sq ft redevelopment of the Silverstone race circuit in Northamptonshire home to the British Grand Prix.
The improvements will include a new pit and paddock complex, two hotels, a manufacturer test centre, extreme sport and leisure facility, business park, welcome centre and a university campus.
These developments secures the future of the previously troubled British Grand Prix and significantly elevate the status of the circuit.
It is expected that these changes, which could take several years to complete, will improve economy in the local area. For more information about the circuit see www.silverstone.co.uk.
