Bonhams has announced that its New York motoring department will auction over 60 cars and variety of motorcycles and automobilia from the famous Richard C Paine Collection on September 26-27.

A plethora of different marques will go under the hammer, including Cadillacs, Packards, Harley-Davidsons and Mercedes.

Many items from the collection have been displayed at the Seal Cove Auto Museum near Bar Harbor, Maine, US.

Bonhams has secured the Owls Head transportation museum in Maine as a venue for the sale, as it was a favourite haunt of Paine.
