Between Saturday and Sunday morning, thieves broke into the Stourbridge, West Midlands showroom of Xtreme UK and made off with nine cars. The vehicles stolen included a Renault Clio V6, two Subaru Imprezza WRXs, three Mitsubishi Evolutions, a Porsche 911 and a Lamborghini Gallardo.
The total estimated value of the cars is in excess of £300,000 British pounds.
Xtreme UK bills itself as 'Europe's premier independent Mitsubishi Motor Sports Specialist' and was formerly known as Ralliart UK when Mitsubishi was active in WRC rallying.
The company is well known for its performance packages including the XT400 upgrade that included increasing the Evo engine's displacement to 2.3 litres and boosting output to 370bhp.
The Xtreme UK website features a live showroom and workshop web cams, but these have been little help to police in determining suspects or the methods they used to take the cars.
The robbery bears some similarities to the 2000 film Gone In 60 Seconds. Xtremes MD James Challis as said 'Just like in the movie, the crooks obviously knew what they were looking for.'
