John Surtees, still the only man to have claimed world titles on both two and four wheels, has been honoured in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
Surtees, 74, receives an OBE for services to motor sport and charity – a long overdue recognition of his achievements in the view of many enthusiasts.
Having claimed the motorcycling world championship, he went on to win the Formula One world championship in a Ferrari in 1964. Now he's involved with Great Britain's A1 GP team and also manages his 17-year-old son Henry's single-seater career.
Three-time world touring car champion Andy Priaux was also honoured in the birthday list, receiving an MBE for services to sport and the community in Guernsey.
