Just a day after the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport was unveiled on the Pebble Beach lawn, the Gooding & Company auctioned off the rights to chassis number 1 along with the opportunity for it's first owner to work with the Bugatti factory to build the car to their exact specifications. 
Bidding started at 1.7m dollars, and finally halted with a final offer of 2.9m
