The Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or is France’s longest-running historic racing event, and this year it returns to Dijon-Prenois. The challenging 3.8km circuit – renowned for its blind Bretelle turn, the uphill Parabolic hairpin, and the sweeping, high-speed Pouas curve – will once again host an array of around 300 historic racers.
First held in 1964 at Rouen-les-Essarts to support the French Grand Prix, the Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or has since passed through Montlhéry before finding its home at Dijon-Prenois. The venue itself is steeped in motorsport lore, most notably hosting the legendary 1979 French Grand Prix, where Gilles Villeneuve’s Ferrari and René Arnoux’s Renault fought out one of the greatest wheel-to-wheel battles in F1 history.
For Patrick Peter, founder of Peter Auto, this event has particular significance, having played a pivotal role in his rise within the world of historic motorsport.
