The 2025 Amelia Island auctions delivered impressive results, with Broad Arrow Auctions and Gooding & Company generating a combined total of over $129million in sales. Bonhams – traditionally a participant at Amelia Island – decided to sit this year out, while RM Sotheby’s ModaMiami auction and event a week earlier has also grown to new heights.
Broad Arrow Auctions, the official auction house of The Amelia – both of which are owned by Hagerty – reported $61.7 million in total sales, with 88% of all lots sold. A 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider Competizione was the top seller, fetching $9,465,000 – making it the most valuable car ever sold by Broad Arrow. The car, one of just eight alloy-bodied California Spiders, had a rich racing history, including a GT class podium finish at the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Other highlights included a 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV, which commanded $4,460,000, and a 1954 Jaguar D-Type Works Competition car that achieved $4,295,000. At the more modern end of the spectrum was a 2018 Pagani Huayra Roadster which also performed well, bringing in $3,415,000. The auction also saw several strong results for American classics, with a 1935 Auburn 851 Super-Charged ‘Boattail’ Speedster breaking the million-dollar mark at $1,011,500.

Gooding & Company led the weekend with $67,427,210 in total sales and a 93% sell-through rate. The 1955 Ferrari 375 MM Berlinetta from the Fred Leydorf Collection matched Broad Arrow’s top sale, achieving $9,465,000 after an intense bidding war between phone and in-room bidders. The auction also set new records, particularly in the RUF market, with a 1989 RUF CTR Yellowbird reaching $6,055,000 – nearly tripling the previous auction record for the marque. A 1997 RUF CTR2, the only one finished in Adriatic Blue, also set a record at $2,645,000.
Other notable sales included a 1963 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Series II Coupe Aerodinamico at $2,535,000, a 1964 Porsche 904 Carrera GTS at $2,205,000, and a 1931 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Sedan that sold for $2,342,500. Classic pre-war models also performed well, with a 1935 Avions Voisin C25 Aérodyne setting a new record at $1,985,000 and a 1953 Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback achieving $1,215,000.
