The Alpine A110 represents one of the greatest ‘return to form’ sports cars in recent history, and as production of this already legendary model reaches its inevitable conclusion late next year – after which the Dieppe production line will focus on the upcoming A390 electric EV – Alpine has unveiled the model’s swansong track-focused special edition, the £276,000 A110 R Ultime.
Limited to just 110 units, the A110 R Ultime offers an increased 345bhp thanks to a new turbocharger, as well as an uprated DW6 gearbox to handle the increased 310lb ft torque figure. 0-62mph is dealt with in just 3.8 seconds. But the Alpine was never really about straight-line performance…
This new special edition is equipped Ohlins adjustable dampers, a bespoke brake set-up with 330mm AP Racing brakes with additional cooling to make sure it stays happy on track. Visually the car is also the most extreme it has ever been, with a new aero package that is said to increase the A110’s downforce by 160kg at top speed over the previous track-focused Turini model. It rides on Michelin PS2 Cup tyres, fitted to 18-inch forged front and 19-inch rear wheels.
Beyond performance, the A110 R Ultime is said to showcase the French company’s personalisation options. The standard version is available with 27 exterior colours and an Alcantara interior in Grey, Red, Blue, or Orange. For the ultimate in bespoke luxury, the Atelier Sur-Mesure programme offers exclusive materials, embroidery, embossing, and leather braiding options.
Debuting in the striking ‘La Bleue’ configuration (seen in these pictures) at the Paris Motor Show, just 15 of these will be built priced at €330,000.
