Bentley Continental GT Supersports – the grand tourer goes more extreme than ever

Bentley has unveiled the new Supersports, a driver-focused, rear-wheel-drive evolution of the Continental GT that revives one of the marque’s most evocative nameplates exactly 100 years after it first appeared. Limited to 500 numbered examples, the new model strips weight, adds purpose, and returns Bentley to a more extreme interpretation of the grand tourer.

For the first time, a road-going Continental GT sends power to its rear wheels only, and at its heart is an uprated version of Bentley’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, tuned to 666bhp and 590lb ft. It drives through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. With a target weight below two tonnes, the Supersports is the lightest Bentley in 85 years and promises markedly sharper dynamics than the all-wheel-drive GT Speed. Official performance figures will follow, though Bentley quotes 0-62mph in 3.7sec and a top speed of around 192mph.

Chassis changes are extensive. The Supersports sits on new twin-chamber dampers, revised air springs and a recalibrated 48-volt anti-roll system. A wider rear track, eLSD and torque-vectoring support the transition to rear-wheel drive, while the ESC system has been completely recalibrated and will allow complete disengagement. Carbon-ceramic brakes – the largest fitted to any production car – and 22-inch forged wheels by Manthey Racing are standard, with Pirelli Trofeo RS tyres available.

Aerodynamic changes give the Supersports the most aggressive appearance of any Continental GT to date. It’s not just visual though, the deep front splitter, stacked dive planes, reprofiled sills, a fixed rear wing and new rear diffuser combine to generate more than 300kg more downforce than a GT Speed. The aluminium roof has also been replaced with carbonfibre.

Inside, the transformation is even more striking. The rear seats have been removed and replaced by a carbonfibre tub trimmed in leather, while new lightweight sports seats sit lower in the car. Leather, Dinamica and carbonfibre dominate, with numbered plaques and Supersports badging completing a cabin aimed squarely at the enthusiast driver.

Orders open in March 2026, with production due to begin in the fourth quarter and first deliveries expected in early 2027 across selected global markets.
