Artcurial Motorcars will offer the entire collection of the Chateau de Vernon Automobile Museum at auction on 28 September 2025. Held at the chateau, just southeast of Poitiers, the sale will feature around 50 cars – all offered at no reserve – with some additional consignments from other private collectors.

The museum was the lifelong project of the late Jean-Pierre Nylin, a dedicated enthusiast who was bitten by the collecting bug after buying his first MG at auction. Over the years he built a remarkably diverse group of cars, favouring 1950s and ’60s sports and GT models, although the full line-up spans nearly a century.

Nylin officially opened the museum in 2008, with support from auctioneer Hervé Poulain and rally legend Ari Vatanen. Housed in the restored outbuildings of the 15th-century chateau, the collection brought together cars from Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Facel Vega and more.

Among the highlights is a 1963 Porsche 356 B Cabriolet (€80,000-120,000), a 1958 Facel Vega HK 500 (€80,000-120,000), and a 1963 Maserati 3500 GT Sebring (€70,000-90,000).

From Britain, a 1971 Aston Martin DBS (€40,000-60,000) offers classic GT style, while a 1997 Chrysler Viper GTS (€40,000-60,000) adds a dose of American excess with its 450bhp V10. The oldest entry is a 1921 Delahaye Type 87 Torpédo by Kelsch (€6000-10,000).

Additional cars from private collections will include a 1923 Bentley 3 Litre Tourer and 1926 Lancia Lambda, both offered without reserve.

Public viewing runs from 26-28 September, with the sale taking place at Château de Vernon on the Sunday. Full details are available at artcurial.com.
