Budapest-based restomod specialist KAMManufaktur has unveiled its latest creation, the 912c Targa, a lightweight, high-performance take on the classic soft-window Porsche 912 Targa. Just like the hardtop 912c launched last year, the Targa gets lightweight carbon fibre panels and a focus on a pure, analogue driving experience – adding open-top thrills to the mix.
Responding to customer demand for an open-roof variant, founder Miklós Kázmér developed the 912c Targa based on the original 1960s soft-window design. KAMM’s Semi-Carbon specification comprises of carbon fibre body panels, rollover hoop, mirrors, seat backs, as well as several structural components. Weight saving even goes as far as lightweight Lexan polycarbonate windows, the result of which is a car weighing under 800kg.

The powertrain uses a completely re-engineered 2.0-litre air-cooled flat-four, in place of the original 912’s 1.6, which now produces 185hp and 151lb ft of torque. The with a redline of 7200rpm, it’s an engine that is actually designed to pull strongly from low rpm to ensure every day drivability. The engine is mated to a dogleg five-speed gearbox, now with a limited-slip diff and a racing clutch.
To celebrate the Targa’s debut, KAMM has created a launch model, based on an original 1968 Porsche 912 soft-window Targa. Finished in period-correct Tangerine with a tobacco leather interior with the iconic Pasha trim inserts, the launch car includes a few bespoke touches such as Cibie spotlights, a carbon roof rack with matching KAMM surfboard.

Kazmer comments: ‘As with all KAMM cars, the 912c Targa will be equally at home on the street as it is the track, and what better way to enjoy life than a fast drive to the beach in a soft-window KAMM 912c Targa, ready for a day of fun and relaxation.’
Each 912c Targa is fully bespoke, with endless customisation options for paint, interior trim, and technical specifications. The launch edition 912c Targa is priced at €395,000, with delivery available worldwide. Production slots for the 2025 KAMM 912c and 912c Targa are now open.
