Maurizio Reggiani joins Eccentrica to oversee Lamborghini Diablo restomod

Maurizio Reggiani, the former CTO of Lamborghini with a CV including roles at Maserati and Bugatti, has joined restomod start-up Eccentrica in an advisory role. Reggiani will begin work on the company’s Diablo restomod, offering strategic and technical guidance during development, as well as offering expert insights during the production phase.

First unveiled in prototype form in 2023, the Eccentrica Diablo makes a bold visual statement. While the general shape of the Diablo is largely unchanged, every panel is different – featuring carbon fibre construction. The original tubular chassis is reinforced with extra carbon fibre and sandwich panels. Opting to go rear-wheel-drive, the Eccentrica will be powered by an upgraded version of the 5.7-litre V12 engine, producing around 550bhp, via a six-speed manual gearbox.

I am excited to contribute to and encourage Eccentrica’s ambitious projects. Their blend of heritage and modern innovation is certainly inspiring, resulting in a bold approach to reshape the restomod industry

‘Welcoming Maurizio Reggiani to Eccentrica is a significant milestone for us, especially as we prepare to begin production,’ said Emanuel Colombini, founder and president of Eccentrica. ‘As we aim to establish a strong presence in the restomod arena, having the ability to tap Maurizio’s expertise will be invaluable. As the pioneer behind the modern-day supercar, his experience, technical prowess and forward-thinking approach will be critical in pushing our vision to new heights as we establish a lasting legacy within the automotive community.’

Reggiani added: ‘I am excited to contribute to and encourage Eccentrica’s ambitious projects. I look forward to helping realise their project and I am sure that Eccentrica’s work will strongly resonate with true car enthusiasts.’
