Each August, the Monterey Peninsula becomes the epicentre of the collector car world. Over the course of ten days, Monterey Car Week 2025 will play host to a remarkable selections of concours, races, informal gatherings and auctions, culminating in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Highlights include the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca, the exclusive Quail gathering and major sales from RM Sotheby’s, Broad Arrow, Bonhams, Gooding Christie’s – but many of the smaller events are every bit as rewarding.
From pre-war grand tourers to 1990s GT1 legends – and even modern and bespoke car launches – Monterey Car Week offers an unmatched celebration of automotive design, engineering and history, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the Californian coast. Monterey Car Week Kick-off, 8 August 2025
Monterey Car Week opens with a classic race car display on Alvarado Street, featuring 30 vintage racers and the chance to meet their drivers. The celebrations continue at Cibo Ristorante Italiano with a public driver reception, complimentary appetisers from 5pm, and live jazz music from 5:30pm on the patio and bar.

Monterey Pre-Reunion, 9-10 August 2025
Held at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the Pre-Reunion is set to feature more than 200 historic competition cars in a relaxed paddock setting. The weekend will also include the Sunday-only Corkscrew Hillclimb & Community Day, where drivers tackle the circuit’s famous Corkscrew in timed runs. Tickets required.

Automobilia Collectors Expo, 11-13 August 2025
A must for collectors, this three-day Expo at Monterey offers rare automobilia, vintage posters and model cars. New for 2025 is a live auction on 12 August, featuring highlights from Donald Osborne’s private collection and lots more. A chance to acquire interesting automotive treasures.

The Porsche Monterey Classic, 11 August 2025
Porsche takes over Del Monte Boulevard once again with a curated selection of Stuttgart’s finest. The event runs from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and features music, food trucks and wine tastings. Ticketed entry.

Monterey British, 11 August 2025
Monterey British brings an all-British car show to the green lawns of Carmel Valley, with around 100 classics set against the Santa Lucia Mountains. Open from 1pm to 4pm, the free-to-attend event includes awards for Aston Martin, MG, Jaguar and more. Dogs welcome, picnic encouraged.

Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, 13-17 August 2025
Laguna Seca once again hosts the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, a five-day celebration of historic racing. This year honours the 75th anniversary of Formula One with a spectacular gathering of Grand Prix machinery, from front-engined 1950s cars to turbo-era titans. Sharing the bill is a rare appearance from original IROC cars, racing on the West Coast for the first time since 2002, many driven by past NASCAR, IMSA, INDYCAR and F1 stars. With world-class hospitality and immersive paddock access, it remains a cornerstone of Monterey Car Week.

Motorlux, 13 August 2025
Motorlux returns to the Jet Center, with guests treated to live entertainment, a curated aviation and car display – including tributes to Porsche, Mustang and Bruno Sacco – plus tasting menus by Michelin-starred chefs and wines from 40 Californian vineyards. The evening also includes the opening of Broad Arrow’s flagship Monterey Jet Center Auction, where 40 lots cross the block in a fashion show–style setting.

Bonhams Quail Lodge Auction, 13-15 August 2025
Bonhams returns to the Quail Lodge on 15 August with a sale that balances hypercar drama and American performance heritage. Preview days run 13-14 August, with the auction taking place during The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. Highlights include the 24-car Future Classics Collection, featuring low-mileage Bugattis, Paganis and Koenigseggs – all offered at no reserve – and the late Vic Edelbrock Jr’s personal cars. Ferrari Owners’ Club Concours Carmel, 14 August 2025
Carmel-by-the-Sea will again host a vibrant celebration of Italian motoring on 14 August, as Ocean Avenue and Dolores Street fill with Ferraris and Italian motorcycles. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Ferrari 308, with concours and display entries spanning from 1947 to 2015. Awards begin at 2.30pm, with cars and bikes remaining on display until 3.45pm. Legends of the Autobahn, 14 August 2025
Returning for its 15th year, Legends of the Autobahn will once again celebrate German cars on the fairways of Pacific Grove Golf Links. Spectator entry is free, though parking is charged. Returning with more than 600 lots across three days, Mecum’s 2025 Monterey sale contains a number of exciting entries – none more so than the one-off 1958 Chrysler California Ghia Hardtop. The Pebble Beach Classic Car Forum brings together industry leaders, designers, historians and enthusiasts for three days of discussion. Among this year’s highlights are panels on the Ford vs Ferrari legacy, preservation of automotive history, Virgil Exner’s design legacy and the global adventures of Land Rover. The Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance brings more than 150 Concours entrants to life in a dramatic road run along the Pacific Coast. The route traces 17-Mile Drive and Highway One to Big Sur, offering spectators rare, free-to-view access to many of the weekend’s top show cars in motion. The event begins with line-up from 7am on Portola Road, with the first cars departing at 9:30am and returning by midday.

Held on Ocean Avenue in Carmel, the Prancing Ponies Women’s Car Show celebrates female ownership and empowerment in the automotive world. Monterey Car Week’s newest addition, The Paddock, launches on Friday 15 August at Bayonet Black Horse in Seaside. Designed as a broader, more inclusive sister event to Concorso Italiano, it welcomes classic, competition and exotic machinery from around the world. Highlights include a 25th anniversary Saleen S7 showcase, a full RADwood display and family-focused activities. Now in its 31st year, the Pacific Grove Rotary Concours Auto Rally returns on Friday 15 August with Mercedes as the featured marque. First launched in 1995 with Carroll Shelby in attendance, the event has grown into one of Monterey Car Week’s most popular free-to-watch spectacles. Vintage, classic, sports and luxury cars will line Lighthouse Avenue from noon, before setting off on a scenic rally drive along the coast and through to Pebble Beach.
