The Brooklands Museum’s centenary celebration of the British Grand Prix continues to take shape, with the addition of a season-long exhibition charting a century of the sport alongside an all-new driving simulator.

The news follows confirmation that reigning Formula 1 Constructors’ Champions McLaren Racing will attend the museum’s headline 100-year celebration on 8 August, where 100 Grand Prix cars will gather to mark the occasion.

Opening to the public on Saturday 27 June, the new Britain’s Grand Prix Story exhibition sits at the centre of the museum’s Summer of Speed programme and charts 100 years of Grand Prix racing since the first British Grand Prix was held at the legendary Brooklands circuit in 1926. Running throughout the summer, visitors will discover a wealth of artefacts, hands-on interactive displays and iconic racing cars spanning many eras.

The exhibition will be based in the museum’s historic Jackson Shed, freshly restored for the occasion. Built in 1931 by British tuner and engineer Robin Jackson, the structure became known as the ‘Robinary’, where drivers could have their competition cars serviced and race=prepared by skilled engineers.

Complementing the exhibition is the all-new Brooklands Simulator Experience, providing visitors with the chance to race around the historic banked Brooklands circuit.

Both the exhibition and simulator arrive ahead of the headline Brooklands Grand Prix Centenary Celebration on Saturday 8 August, when 100 Grand Prix cars will gather at the venue.
