A collection of cars from the Group A era of the World Rally Championship will be showcased at the Honourable Artillery Company during the 2026 London Concours, running 9-11 June.

Presented in partnership with historic rally group Slowly Sideways, the Group A Rally Car class features nine cars ranging from a 1983 Ford Escort RS1600i to a 2001 Porsche 996 GT3.

Headlining the display is a Toyota Celica GT-Four with genuine Carlos Sainz provenance. Built by Toyota Team Europe, Sainz drove the car at the 1992 Acropolis Rally during his second championship-winning season, before it passed through the hands of Thomas Rådström, Henning Solberg and Petter Solberg on Scandinavian stages.

Among the historically significant entries is the 1984 Rover SD1 Vitesse, the final car built by Longbridge Motorsport, which competed in the early European Group A Championship and appeared at the Donington Park Rally Sprint.

Subaru and Mitsubishi, both synonymous with rallying across the 1990s and 2000s, are each represented. A 1990 Subaru Legacy RS recalls the model that underpinned the marque’s WRC rise, with Colin McRae delivering its first victory in the series. The example on show is an authentic recreation of the Clarion Team Europe car driven by Per Ekund on the 1992 RAC Rally.

The 1993 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III was originally built by an ex-Ralliart mechanic to international Group N specification before being upgraded to Group A. Presented in its 1996 Sanremo livery, it remains active in competition today.

Further highlights include a Bastos-liveried Ford Escort Cosworth, an ex-works Opel Calibra, a 1989 BMW M3 and a 1991 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6.5.
