Morgan has unveiled the Supersport 400, the most powerful series-production model in the marque’s 117-year history. Powered by BMW’s B58 inline-six turbocharged engine, it produces 402bhp – the first Morgan to surpass the 400bhp threshold – and accelerates from 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 180mph.

The B58 is paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox driving the rear wheels, with 359lb ft of torque available from as low as 1250rpm. That output is contained within a 1170kg body, giving a power-to-weight ratio of 344bhp per tonne. A new Active Performance Exhaust, developed specifically for the Supersport 400, is available as an option.

Built on Morgan’s lightweight CXV bonded-aluminium platform, the new flagship is equipped with the Dynamic Handling Pack as standard. This combines 24-way adjustable Nitron dampers with revised spring rates and suspension geometry, designed to sharpen the car’s handling without sacrificing its approachability. An optional limited-slip differential is also available.

New forged 19-inch Sportlite alloy wheels reduce unsprung mass and rotational inertia, and are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres.

The Supersport 400’s styling is a subtle evolution of the Supersport. New front wing vents improve airflow and cooling while giving the car a more purposeful character, and the lower bodywork switches from satin to gloss finish, increasing contrast with the flowing aluminium surfaces.

Four new satin paint finishes are available: Forged Grey, Silk Silver, Sail Silver and Horizon Blue, alongside optional coral accent detailing on the brake calipers and interior trim.

‘Supersport 400 is the purest expression of Supersport,’ said Morgan managing director Matthew Hole. ‘From the outset, our aim has been to create a vehicle that is sharper and more deliberate, ensuring the additional power is delivered in a way that feels balanced, intuitive and deeply rewarding for the driver.’

Inside, Alcantara trim joins the Supersport’s existing leather options. The 400 also gets unique analogue instrument dials manufactured by Caerbont, as well as an optional aluminium gear shifter.

The Supersport 400 is available to order now, priced from £112,965 before taxes. Production begins in May 2026. Click here for more.
