Rolls-Royce launches Coachbuild Collection for low-volume bespoke creations

Rolls-Royce has announced the Coachbuild Collection as a new ultra-exclusive programme that combines one-off coachbuilt cars with a multi-year schedule of curated client experiences.

Positioned as an extension of the marque’s existing coachbuilding activities, the Coachbuild Collection will be offered on an invitational basis to selected clients through the marque’s Private Office network. Each Collection will comprise a limited run of new, non-repeatable designs conceived in-house.

Unlike previous coachbuilt Goodwood-era models, such as the Sweptail, Boat Tail and Drop Tail, Coachbuild Collection clients will be granted behind-the-scenes access to vehicle development, joining Rolls-Royce engineers at test facilities and flown around the world to evaluate their cars in extreme climates.

Clients will also be invited to private events and gain access to secret design studios and collaborate with craftspeople and luxury houses beyond the automotive industry.

‘This is something the super-luxury world has never seen before,’ said Rolls-Royce chief executive Chris Brownridge. ‘The experience of this programme is inseparable from the motor car itself, and both will be brought to life with the care and ambition worthy of the collectors who inspired them – and of Rolls-Royce itself.’

The first Coachbuild Collection car will be based on the all-electric Spectre platform. Further information is promised in April.
