SGT Automobili reveals Alfa Romeo 155 DTM-inspired 5S-SGT

SGT Automobili has revealed its debut car, the 5S-SGT, built as a tribute to the DTM title-winning Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti from 1995.

The angular, 155-influenced carbonfibre bodywork sits over a platform borrowed from the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. Powering it is a twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 producing 612bhp in the road-going Stradale trim, rising to 740bhp for the more track-focused Trofeo variant.

An eight-speed automatic gearbox distributes drive across all four wheels as standard, though drivers wanting a purer setup can switch to rear-wheel drive only. Given that the Stradale already puts out roughly 100bhp beyond the regular Quadrifoglio’s output, engineers reinforced the transmission and stiffened the chassis, boosting torsional rigidity by around 25 percent.

Inside, the cabin strips things back in motorsport style with carbonfibre bucket seats, a roll-cage, rear-seat delete and an onboard fire extinguisher. A redesigned set of controls on the centre console lets the driver tweak the differential, adjust damper firmness, and switch between engine mapping profiles. Kerbweight comes in at 1590kg for the Stradale, dropping to 1490kg for the more focused Trofeo version.

Pricing and production volumes are yet to be confirmed.
