The much-loved Classics in the Walled Garden event will return to the picturesque Luton Hoo Estate on 2 July 2025, promising a memorable evening for classic car enthusiasts and their families. Now in its 16th year, this laid-back gathering celebrates historic cars, motorbikes, and commercial vehicles within the enchanting five-acre Walled Garden, designed by Capability Brown in the 1760s.
Running from 4pm to 9pm, the event’s charm lies in its informal atmosphere, offering attendees the chance to admire classic vehicles and connect with fellow enthusiasts. Curated by Peter Madden, founder of the renowned Classics on the Common in Harpenden, the event has evolved under the stewardship of a passionate team of local enthusiasts.

New for 2025, Classics in the Walled Garden will feature enhanced food and drink options, live music performances, and the possibility of guided tours of the historic garden, including its iconic glasshouses – the second largest in the UK after Kew Gardens. The garden, rich in history and beauty, was commissioned by John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute and Prime Minister to George III.
Sponsors will also play a larger role this year, hosting displays on the lawn alongside local automotive retailers. A raffle and tombola will add an extra layer of excitement, with a range of enticing prizes up for grabs.
The event supports two charitable causes: NSPCC Childline, which provides vital support to children in need, and The Walled Garden Project, dedicated to preserving and restoring this historic site. All proceeds from the evening will go toward these important initiatives.
