Goodwood Festival of Speed
This event needs no introduction; you’ll struggle to find a petrolhead who hasn’t heard of it, and given the Festival of Speed has been going since 1993, a good proportion of the world’s car fans have probably visited too. This year’s FoS runs from 9-12 July and it’ll see 150,000 punters pass through the gates in that time. The packed stands won’t be for everyone and you’re very much exposed to the weather, be it stiflingly hot or raining cats and dogs, but it’s still a must-visit if you’ve never been, for the sheer variety of cars, motorcycles, and more that run up the hill. Then there’s the concours, the rally stage, the supercar paddock, the moving motor show, the various hospitality tents, and the chance to see your racing heroes, as dozens turn up every year. Pricing reflects its popularity, with admission-only tickets starting at £78, performance car parking at £55 if you want a special space, and a “Startline Club” package costing £408 per day.
