Gran Premio Nuvolari
The Gran Premio Nuvolari has a surprisingly long history, the original 1954 event taking place as a tribute to Tazio Nuvolari, who died the previous year. Originally a re-routing of the Mille Miglia staged in Nuvolari’s honour, the event returned in 1991 as a Mille Miglia-style reenactment for historic vehicles – and that’s the role it plays today. It runs a four-day route, this year starting on September 17th in Mantova, before heading to the Mugello circuit, Imola, Rimini, and eventually back to Mantova. It totals around 1100km and is open to cars produced between 1911 and 2000, while a sustainability initiative supporting the event sees trees planted to offset the CO2 of the event.
