Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance

In an effort to break away from classic and vintage cars being merely “garage queens”, the organisers of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance set up the Tour d’Elegance in 1998 – a road trip that starts in Pebble Beach and heads towards the Ripplewood Resort in Big Sur, before looping back around to Pebble Beach once more, a round-trip of about 60 miles. It’s become very popular, with the majority of Concours entrants taking part. And for good reason, as the green ribbon awarded to any car that completes the Tour could end up making the difference in a close concours decision with one that hasn’t. This year’s Tour d’Elegance takes place on Thursday, August 13th, three days before the Concours, and runs from 7am until noon.
