Tour de Corse Historique
The World Rally Championship no longer visits Corsica for the intense and evocative Tour de Corse, but the Tour de Corse Historique gives both drivers and spectators a taste of the famous rallying event, hosting three competition classes between 1947 and 1992, and a regularity class for vehicles up to 1996. Crews cover more than 1000km in five days of competition, including 18 stages of closed roads, for 380km of timed sections. The E30 BMW M3 is being touted as the star of this year’s event as the model – which made its name in circuit racing, but was originally designed for the stages – enjoys its 40th anniversary this year, while Jos Verstappen, father of four-time F1 champion Max, returns to the event this year to try to better his 21st position from 2024. This year’s rally runs from the 3rd to 10th of October.
