The Goodwood Festival of Speed will celebrate the great rivalries of motorsport in 2026, having officially confirmed next year’s theme as “The Rivalries – Epic Racing Duels”.
Scheduled for 9-12 July, the four-day event will pay tribute to rivalries from across the motorsport spectrum – from MotoGP and the World Rally Championship to IndyCar and Formula 1.
Two of motorsport’s most storied duels – Ford vs Ferrari at Le Mans and James Hunt vs Niki Lauda in F1 – mark their 50th and 60th anniversaries respectively in 2026, and both will take centre stage in Goodwood’s celebrations.

While details are yet to be confirmed, both rivalries are expected to feature prominently on the Goodwood hillclimb and across the wider Estate.
The 2026 Festival will bring together drivers, riders, cars and bikes from a host of disciplines to tackle the famous hillclimb, with an entire batch devoted to motor racing rivalries.
‘Over the years, Goodwood has seen some fierce competition, whether in the early days of the Circuit when the all-time greats were battling it out, or in more recent years on the hillclimb,’ commented the Duke of Richmond. ‘In 2026, the Festival of Speed will capture the drama and intensity of some of motorsport’s greatest contests.’
