One of the rarest and most significant modern Lamborghinis is set to change hands through Sealed by RM Sotheby’s, with what is believed to be the final manual Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce ever built offered privately. One of just five known examples equipped with Lamborghini’s six-speed gated manual transmission, the uniquely specified car is expected to attract intense interest from collectors seeking the ultimate expression of the marque’s analogue V12 era.

Introduced at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, the LP670-4 SuperVeloce represented the final and most focused evolution of the Murciélago. It was only the third Lamborghini to wear the revered SV badge, following the Miura SV and Diablo SV, and combined a 100kg weight reduction with a power increase to 661bhp from its naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12. Revised suspension, improved aerodynamics and a more aggressive chassis setup sharpened what was already one of the defining supercars of its generation.

The car being offered, chassis 4015, stands apart even among the approximately 300 LP670-4 SVs produced. It is believed to be the final manual V12 Lamborghini to leave Sant’Agata Bolognese before the marque adopted automated transmissions across its flagship range, and is the only example finished in the Ad Personam colour Marrone Eklipsis with a bespoke Marrone Janus and Avorio Lilium interior.

Rather than the towering Aeropack rear wing fitted to most SVs, chassis 4015 was ordered with the far rarer Low Drag Wing, an option believed to have been chosen on only three examples. Not only does it preserve the Murciélago’s clean profile, it also increased the claimed top speed from 209mph to 212mph.

Perhaps more surprising is the choice of the standard LP640 comfort seats in place of the lightweight carbon-fibre buckets. Trimmed in bespoke leather and Alcantara, they make this otherwise uncompromising flagship a more practical proposition for long-distance use.

Yet it is the open-gated six-speed manual gearbox that makes this a true unicorn spec. While the overwhelming majority of LP670-4 SVs left the factory with Lamborghini’s E-Gear automated manual transmission, just five are understood to have been built with the traditional manual.
