A quartet of DTM racers and Barry Sheene’s 1976 championship-winning motorcycle are among the headline lots in Bonhams’ forthcoming 2026 Spring Season of Sales, which will see the auction house stage major collector car auctions across the UK, US and Europe.
Bonhams’ spring auction season begins on 19 April with the Goodwood Members’ Meeting Sale before moving on to Monaco on 24 April and then to Stafford, where Sheene’s title-winning Suzuki and motorcycles from the Rex Judd Collection will cross the block on 25-26 April. Focus then shifts to the US, with major sales in Miami on 3 May and Greenwich on 31 May.
At the time of writing, the Goodwood Members’ Meeting Sale is led by a 2002 Lamborghini Murciélago – one of just 179 equipped with a manual transmission. With a pre-sale estimate of £175,000-£225,000, the Murciélago arrives at a moment of strong demand for the model, particularly for rare manual examples, as collectors continue to favour early-2000s analogue supercars. There is little detail about this particular car’s history and mileage at the time of writing, however.
Other highlights of the Members’ Meeting catalogue include a 1953 OSCA MT4 Barchetta (£120,000-160,000), a 1925 Bentley 3 Litre Boat-Tail Tourer (£100,000-150,000), a 1956 Austin-Healey 100M (£60,000-80,000), a 1936 Bentley 4¼-Litre Coupé (£50,000-70,000) and a 1954 Allard Palm Beach (£40,000-50,000).
Taking place over the weekend of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, Bonhams’ Monaco Sale promises strong results from the four 1990s-era DTM racers up for grabs. Offered from a single owner, the collection is headlined by the Martini-liveried 1995 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti DTM (€500,000-600,000). This particular example was campaigned by Italian driver Alessandro Nannini, who recorded podium finishes at Avus and the Norisring on his way to 11th in the 1995 standings.
Joining it are several other period rivals, including the ex-Klaus Ludwig 1990 Mercedes-Benz AMG 190E 2.5-16 DTM, estimated at €375,000-550,000, the ex-Steve Soper 1992 BMW M3 E30 DTM at €325,000-425,000 and a 1989 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 DTM driven in period by Armin Hahne. Together they represent the peak of the homologation-based touring-car formula that dominated European circuits during the late 1980s and early ’90s.
The run of sales concludes with the Miami Auction during the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix weekend on 3 May, this year relocated inside the Hard Rock Stadium above the Paddock Club, placing the sale at the centre of the event’s hospitality and viewing areas.
