An Aston Martin DB6 has become Lunaz’s 50th commission – and the first in the company’s history to retain a combustion engine rather than adopt electric power. The Silverstone-based specialist, founded by David Lorenz, has built its reputation on outstanding electrified Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Aston Martin remasters, but this latest project signals a slightly different approach.
Conceived during the DB6’s 60th anniversary year, the car forms the first of a limited number of ‘First Edition’ builds and was commissioned by a returning client. While Lunaz refers to it simply as a ‘DB’, the base car is a DB6 re-engineered to what the company describes as its most refined specification yet.

The standard 4.0-litre straight-six has been enlarged to 5.0-litres and will produce 350bhp. Suspension, brakes and steering systems have been reworked to match the additional output, with the aim of delivering greater precision and usability without compromising the character of the original car. As with Lunaz’s electric commissions, the work is undertaken in-house at its Silverstone facility.
Visually the intention is to subtly evolve rather than a full reinvention, meaning the proportions remain clearly identifiable, with just a few subtle tweaks: wider wheelarches, soft gold chrome detailing and a bespoke paint colour developed in specifically for the client.

Inside, Lunaz’s tailoring studio has taken things a step further, with sterling silver switchgear, mother-of-pearl inlays and a blend of cashmere textiles, suedes and leathers throughout.
The 50th commission will make its public debut in late summer 2026. Beyond the individual car, it marks a significant moment for Lunaz, demonstrating that its engineering capability now extends beyond electrification to the careful reimagining of classic internal combustion cars as well.

‘We founded Lunaz to preserve, enhance, and reimagine the world’s most celebrated cars, allowing them to be driven and cherished
for generations. This DB, our 50th commission and the first petrol project leveraging our Formula One derived expertise, is a
watershed moment. That the first comes from a returning client underscores the trust and enduring relationships at the heart of our
brand. Together, we are creating a DB that honours its heritage, while expressing the pinnacle of bespoke automotive
craftsmanship,’ says David Lorenz, Founder, Lunaz.
