Land Rover Classic has revealed a one-off 1993 Range Rover Classic created to match the new Range Rover SV Ultra, with the two cars due to be offered together by RM Sotheby’s during Monterey Car Week. The Classic has undergone a 2000-hour restoration by Land Rover Classic, combining its original mechanical specification with colours and materials developed for the latest Range Rover flagship.
Originally supplied to the United States as a County Edition, the 1993 car retains its four-speed automatic transmission and has received a comprehensive mechanical rebuild covering the engine, gearbox, suspension, steering and braking systems. The intention was to preserve the character of the original vehicle while improving its reliability and finish to the standards expected of a factory-restored example.
Its Titan Silver paintwork was introduced on the new SV Ultra and uses fine aluminium flake to create a highly reflective finish. The Classic’s 16-inch three-spoke wheels are finished in Satin Platinum Atlas with diamond-cut rims, while the exterior side mouldings have been removed to give the body cleaner surfaces. New bonnet lettering and a plaque beneath the bonnet identify it as the first commission of its kind.
For the first time in a factory-restored Range Rover Classic, the cabin is trimmed in Ultrafabrics rather than leather, using the same Orchid White and Cinder Grey colour combination as the accompanying SV Ultra. The dashboard, air vents and steering wheel follow the same two-tone theme, while the seats feature the laser-cut pattern and mosaic perforation developed for the modern car.
Brushed aluminium door handles, matching speaker covers and bespoke trim pieces complete the cabin. Although the materials are distinctly contemporary, the underlying architecture and major controls remain recognisably those of the late Classic.
The project has been produced to demonstrate the personalisation now available through Range Rover’s Classic division, including custom paint, embroidery, scripts and upholstery.
The matched pair will be displayed at the RM Sotheby’s Monterey preview from 12 August before crossing the block on 14 August.
