Superamerica takes top award at UAE Ferrari concours

Best of Show at the fourth Cavallino Classic Middle East went to Connor Cogan’s exquisite 1961 Ferrari 400 Superamerica (chassis 2841). The award was the culmination of a three-day event from 6-8 December around the F1 Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit near Abu Dhabi in the UAE.

This year’s event was also special because it marked 30 years of Ferrari in the region. That meant a bumper showing of everything from 512 and 348 to Enzo and LaFerrari. Other models out in force included 456 GT and 550 Maranello, 360, 599 GTB Fiorano, 430, 458 and 599 and 599GTO.

Joining Cavallino chairman and CEO Luigi Orlandini for the awards presentation at the Yas Marina after the F1 race were Ferrari’s VP of commercial and Marketing, Enrico Galliera, plus Enzo Mattioli Ferrari, a direct descendant of Enzo Ferrari.

In addition to 19 vehicles earning a platinum award numerous class and other awards were presented (see below).

‘I’m truly delighted that, in just its fourth year, Cavallino Classic Middle East has reached the level and acclaim of an international Concorso d’Eleganza,’ said  Orlandini. ‘The growth of such an event, even in countries without a deep-rooted tradition in this field, is a testament to the enduring interest and passion for automobiles—and Ferraris, in particular. The atmosphere here has been both delightful and inspiring, deserving recognition for each participant who showcased their immaculately preserved vehicles.’
