British specialist Talos Vehicles has revealed the 911 RT, a bespoke reworked 991.2 GT3 RS, inspired by the 911 R competition cars – only this one will be road legal. Limited to just 20 examples worldwide, the car combines extensive carbonfibre bodywork and bespoke suspension, while retaining much of what makes the GT3 a usable road car.
Developed and hand-built in Yorkshire, the 911 RT aims to blend the visual character and sense of occasion of hardcore Porsche competition machinery with the usability of the road car. Talos says the project was digitally modelled from an original 911 R race car using 3D scanning technology before being adapted around the GT3 RS platform.

Weight saving has been a major focus and extensive use of carbonfibre – developed in collaboration with MCT Carbon – reduces overall mass by around 80kg over the donor GT3 RS. Another big change is the bespoke suspension system developed with Öhlins, which is said to balance road compliance with track-focused responses. The electronically adjustable TTX dampers can also be altered via smartphone control.
Mechanically, Talos has elected to retain Porsche’s naturally aspirated 9000rpm flat-six, producing 540bhp. Talos says the emphasis has been placed on throttle response, reliability and driver engagement.

Inside, each car will be individually commissioned, with owners closely involved in selecting materials, finishes and colours. Talos describes the approach as more akin to coachbuilding than conventional series production, reflecting the company’s background in bespoke low-volume engineering projects.
Jamie Thwaites, managing director at Talos Vehicles said: ‘Our philosophy for the 911 RT was very simple; to create a road car that feels like a race car and vice versa, and we’re incredibly proud of the result.
‘Every decision has been guided by visual authenticity, mechanical honesty and an uncompromising driving experience. The result is a machine that remains focused, immersive and purposeful in every environment.’

The 911 RT follows the launch of the Talos XXT in late 2025 and signals the company’s growing ambitions within the increasingly crowded Porsche restomod market. Pricing starts at £850,000, not including the donor car. For more info, see talos-vehicles.com
