Bicester Motion’s final Sunday Scramble of 2025 on 5 October welcomed thousands to the former WWII RAF base for eclectic displays, open workshops, test drives and a sociable atmosphere.
Like any great car event, punters were snapping photos before entry, such was the range of interesting metal in the former airfield car park. Highlights ranged from JDM icons and modern supercars to ’60s classics, pre-war curiosities, Americana and more.

Star attractions were scattered across the site, starting with the fearsome Vampire jet dragster – the car in which former Top Gear host Richard Hammond crashed in 2007. Nearby sat two Safari-spec Porsche 911s, a brace of Veteran cars, a pair of Jaguar E-types, plus a Mercedes-Benz Unimog and a Toyota Soarer.

Plenty of the latest and most exciting machinery was on show from major manufacturers and boutique firms. Maserati’s GT2 Stradale was swarmed by smartphones, as was Eagle E-Types’ stunning Lightweight GTR. Theon Design, meanwhile, displayed its latest Porsche 964 GBR006 restomod, and Austin Cars’ 1959-spec Mini race cars were just as popular at Bicester as they were at the Goodwood Revival. Alfa Romeo, Polestar and INEOS were also on hand with their latest models.

When they weren’t admiring the jaw-dropping array of cars, attendees socialised in Hagerty’s clubhouse, browsed the vast aircraft-hangar autojumble, and explored the open garages and workshops of the on-site businesses.

The buoyant atmosphere was heartening after the summer’s tragic fire in one of the site’s hangars – an incident that made national headlines and claimed a firefighter’s life. The demolition of the building is under way, with scaffolding up and the building cordoned off.
The next Bicester Motion Sunday Scramble gets underway on 11 January 2026 and you can pre-book your tickets here.
