A 1984 Ferrari 308 GTSi Bi-Turbo Koenig-Specials is set to feature in the Tuners class of the 2026 London Concours at the Honourable Artillery Company on 9-11 June.

Developed by German racer and tuner Willy Koenig in the 1980s, the Koenig conversion combines dramatic wide-body styling with comprehensive mechanical upgrades.

Suspension was uprated with sports springs and Koni dampers, while AP Racing calipers and discs were fitted to the front axle, along with wider BBS three-piece wheels shod in Michelin racing tyres. A Rajay turbocharger boosted power from 240bhp to around 400bhp.

This particular example is the very car featured in Octane 267 and it boasts a compelling backstory. Restorer Jonathan Rose of JAR first discovered the car during a trip to Finland in 2015, where it had been reduced to a near-undriveable state by years of neglect and sub-standard modifications.

An oversized Garrett turbocharger had replaced the original Rajay item and the car required extensive mechanical and electrical work. Even so, the hallmarks of a genuine Koenig conversion remained, including the original suspension, AP Racing brakes and BBS wheels.

Fortunately, the original Rajay turbo was found in the boot alongside the original intake manifold pipework. A comprehensive mechanical restoration to original Koenig specification ensued, followed by a full cosmetic restoration with bodywork refinished in Ferrari Giallo Fly. Octane drove the finished car at Goodwood in 2025. Its appearance at this year’s London Concours marks the next chapter in the car’s post-restoration story.
