Targa Florio Classica
Despite coming to an end in the 1970s, the Targa Florio remains one of the best-known road races, and much like the Mille Miglia, its modern interpretation draws classic racers like moths to a flame. Today’s race spans four classes, Classica for cars built before 1977, Legend for those from 1978 until 2000, Gran Turismo for post-2001 cars, and Ferrari Tribute, for 2001-on Ferraris. Entry for competitors costs €4500 Euros for a crew of two, including transportation of the car from mainland Italy to Palermo, and accommodation. Running on the same Sicilian roads as the original race, spectating is effectively free, if you can get yourself there, though bear in mind it’s now more of a regularity tour than a flat-out thrash. The 2026 event runs from October 15-18.
