Held across the weekend of 27 February to 1 March 2026, ModaMiami continued to build on its reputation as one of the more compelling stops on the American concours calendar. Spread across more than 20 classes, the show field ranged from pioneering pre-war machinery through to modern performance cars – though nature had the final word before the weekend was out.
Three best of show titles were awarded across separate categories. The Classic award went to a 1934 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Lungo Spider, one of the most admired pre-war Italian designs and still a worthy centrepiece of any serious concours. The Post-War title was claimed by a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTS/4 NART Spider – a rare and historically significant car, with only ten examples built to the order of Luigi Chinetti’s North American Racing Team. The Modern category went to a 1995 McLaren F1.
The Chairman’s Award went to a 1967 Lamborghini Miura P400, fitting given the event’s dedicated celebration of the model at 60 years old. The Marcello Gandini Design Award was presented to a 1973 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale.
Running alongside the concours, RM Sotheby’s held a two-day sale at the Biltmore that produced some notable results. A 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider by Scaglietti led the way at $7,045,000, with a 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari close behind at $6,880,000 – an auction benchmark for the model. Sunday’s closing programme was brought to an abrupt halt when a thunderstorm swept through Coral Gables shortly before noon. Heavy rain and strong winds flooded parts of the golf-course show field, leaving standing water around some of the event’s most valuable machinery. No significant vehicle damage was reported, but the storm curtailed the finale and complicated the day considerably for organisers and exhibitors alike.
Despite the disruption, ModaMiami 2026 confirmed its standing as a concours with genuine breadth, strong curation and a growing place on the international collector car circuit.
