Mazda’s legendary 787B will take pride of place at Fuji Speedway this autumn as the star attraction of Mazda Fan Festa 2025. The four-rotor prototype, famous for its victory at the 1991 Le Mans 24 Hours – still the only Japanese car ever to win outright – will headline a packed weekend of demonstrations and celebrations on 4-5 October. Its return to the track promises to be a highlight for enthusiasts eager to see and hear one of motorsport’s most evocative Group C racers in action.

The 787B is just one of many competition cars set to appear, as Mazda Spirit Racing will demonstrate its current Super Taikyu Series entries, while the ever-popular Media MX-5 Endurance Race joins the event for the first time. This long-running contest, now in its 35th year, pits journalists and media figures against one another in production-spec MX-5s, adding further spectacle to the Fan Festa timetable.

Mazda’s commitment to fan participation is evident across the programme, and owners will have the chance to lap Fuji in their own cars. The unusual ‘circuit safari’ will allow spectators to ride buses around the circuit as Mazda racers thunder past, too. Round 5 of the Mazda Fan Endurance Race Series will add more competitive drama, and a virtual racing zone will invite visitors to take part digitally.

Away from the track, the theme ‘a place to enjoy cars even more together with fans’ will shape a series of interactive experiences. New for 2025 are workshops simulating Mazda’s design and manufacturing processes, alongside multi-sensory showcases of technology and craftsmanship. Family-friendly attractions, meet-and-greet sessions with Mazda engineers and historic car exhibitions complete the immersive line-up.
