Dutch studio Niels van Roij Design will publicly unveil its Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage at the Royal Automobile Club Concours at Woodcote Park on 8 July 2026.
The Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage is a 21st century realisation of the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Shooting Brake that was commissioned by American real estate tycoon Bob Gittleman via famous US marque importer Luigi Chinetti.

While directly inspired by the 1970s original (below), the Shooting Brake Hommage embraces modern styling and engineering philosophies, to create a supercar that feels ‘both instantly recognisable and entirely new,’ as the company puts it.
Believed to be built on Ferrari 599 GTB underpinnings, the V12-powered machine is clothed in hand-formed aluminium coachwork with a reshaped roofline that sweeps into an elongated rear with a raked Kamm tail. Inside, the cabin has been completely redesigned.

There are plenty of nods to the original, however, including the opening butterfly side windows that allow remote access to the boot.
Like the original, the Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage will be a one-off commission. The 365 GTB/4 Daytona Shooting Brake itself was penned by American designer Gene Garfinkle, with the aluminium bodywork fabricated by British coachbuilder Panther Westwinds in Surrey. The car changed hands rarely in the intervening decades and last came to public attention when it appeared at Gooding & Co’s 2016 Monterey Car Week auction.

‘Designing the Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage has been both an honour and a rare opportunity,’ said studio founder Niels van Roij. ‘Translating the legendary 1970s shooting brake into a contemporary design language has been a complex process. Our aim has always been to celebrate the original without being constrained by it creatively.’
The Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage’s appearance at the Royal Automobile Club Concours will mark its first – and possibly only – public appearance before it enters a private collection. The Hommage will be displayed alongside a number of other notable shooting brakes at the concours.
