Pininfarina and JAS Motorsport tease reimagined Honda NSX

Pininfarina has teamed up with Italian racing outfit JAS Motorsport to breathe new life into one of Japan’s most iconic performance machines: the Honda NSX.

Based on an original NA1-generation NSX – famously honed with Ayrton Senna’s input – the JAS/Pininfarina project is said to be on schedule, with a running development prototype nearing completion

The renders suggest the finished product will be very much a honed and modernised version of the original ‘90s silhouette – albeit entirely constructed out of carbonfibre composite, rather than steel.

Created by Pininfarina, the modernised body will be available for both left- and right-hand drive donor cars. Pininfarina has also worked to update the car’s interior, which is said to combine beauty and functionality in its design.

Beneath the redesigned bodywork sits an original NSX-derived, naturally aspirated V6 paired with a six-speed manual. The engine is expected to be fully overhauled and to deliver more than the 276bhp Honda quoted in period and racing-derived mechanicals drawing on JAS Motorsport’s expertise are promised.

Further details of the project, including its name, will follow in due course, leading up to a first public unveiling in the first half of 2026.
