A trio of special-edition McLarens – a Solus GT, Elva and 720S GT3 X – will be among the highlights of RM Sotheby’s Arizona sale on 23 January 2026. Consigned by a single owner, the three cars join an extensive catalogue featuring more than $60m worth of collector machinery.

The most valuable car of the trio is the 2025 Solus GT. One of just 25 examples built, this radical, track-only machine was originally conceived for the Gran Turismo video game before being turned into reality by Woking’s engineers.

Underpinned by a carbonfibre monocoque with central seating, this lightweight 1043kg machine is powered by a naturally aspirated V10 that develops 840bhp.

This example – chassis 21 – carries more than $532,000 in factory options, including the Extended Running Kit, air conditioning and an additional wheel-and-tyre set. Those extras pushed its original price to an eye-watering $3.7m, eclipsing the pre-sale estimate of $2.5m-$3.5m.

The 2021 McLaren Elva is the brand’s first road-legal, open-cockpit model and was limited to just 149 examples. Unveiled in 2019, the Elva entered the market facing competition by similarly exclusive speedsters from Aston Martin and Ferrari.

This particular Elva was purchased new through McLaren of Denver and boasts more than $383,000 in factory options – most of which comes from the blue-tinted exposed carbon bodywork, costing $316,720. The car has covered just 65 miles from new and is expected to fetch $900,000 to $1.2m.

Rounding out the trio is the 720S GT3X – the ultimate, unrestricted evolution of McLaren’s championship-winning 720S GT3 race car. Powering this mid-engined, track-only special edition is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that generates up to 740bhp with its push-to-pass system enabled. The powertrain is complemented by GT3-spec aerodynamics and McLaren’s MonoCage II carbonfibre monocoque chassis.

Ordered new by the consignor, this GT3X was specified with more than $55,000 worth of factory options, including a carbon clutch, Bosch crash-avoidance system, a passenger seat and TPMS and VBOX telemetry. It’s valued at $450,000 to $650,000.

Additional consignments were revealed in the weeks leading up to 23 January, 2026. View the auction catalogue here.
