Updated Porsche 911 Carrera S gets 473bhp

Porsche has introduced the latest addition to its recently updated 911 range: the 2025 911 Carrera S. As before, this model slots neatly between the base Carrera and the Carrera GTS T-Hybrid. As with the other models in the 992.2 range, the Carrera S is equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-litre flat-six engine, now producing 473bhp thanks to new turbochargers and optimised charge-air cooling.

The Carrera S delivers power levels once reserved for higher-tier models, which means it now boasts a 0-62mph time of just 3.3 seconds – quicker than the GT3! Topping out at 191 mph, it only comes paired with Porsche’s eight-speed PDK transmission – you need to look at the Carrera T if you want a manual.

Beyond its enhanced performance, the Carrera S benefits from a comprehensively upgraded standard specification list. Staggered 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, a sports exhaust system and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus are all included. A larger brake system borrowed from the previous-generation Carrera GTS, featuring 408 mm front discs, ensures suitable stopping power.

The PASM sports suspension can be specified as an option, featuring a 10mm lower ride height and rear-wheel steering, and if you fancy going on track you can also upgrade to the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake system.

The S represents a high level of standard features though, including Matrix LED headlights and wireless smartphone charging, with options such as HD-Matrix LED headlights and the Sport Chrono package adding further appeal. Customers can also enhance their skills with a bespoke driving experience at the Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone.

Available now, the 911 Carrera S starts at £119,800, with the Cabriolet priced from £129,800.
